For a relocating individual, Slovenia generally does not tax private crypto trading gains as capital gains, but crypto income can be taxed as personal income if FURS treats the activity as a permanent business activity.

“The tax treatment of cryptocurrency transactions depends on the circumstances of each individual case. Income from cryptocurrency is taxed as income under the Personal Income Tax Act if it represents income from employment, income from carrying out an activity, income from agricultural activity, income from the sale of capital assets or other income.” Financial Administration of the Republic of Slovenia (FURS)
